Beer Can Chicken

We made beer can chicken for the first time last night. It turned out pretty well, but it wasn’t quite done when we took it off the beer can and grill at first, so we had to put it back on the grill for a bit. We’ll have to keep it on longer next time, but I can definitely see the potential for it being great. And it was still really moist. Also, I really can’t even complain about the food on a 50 degree evening in January. It was nice just to be outside.

Also, happy birthday Alek – a great husband and amazing dad! We love you more than Ben’s Angry Birds : )

Ben says he’s being Darth Vadar, but I think he looks more like a knight…of some sort. Also, a sword versus a tiny hammer? Really? That’s hardly seems fair.

Let the Demo Begin

What I accomplished last night…

It might not look like much, but that’s just because I did a good job cleaning up. First step of demo’ing the pantry – done. Shelves are gone. I started Friday night by removing the shelf boards. Then I did the real demo last night when I banged out all the shelf framing. Not often that you get to hit something with a hammer as hard as you possibly can…repeatedly. It’s kind of therapeutic.

Mid-Season Update

I loved Amelia’s first winter coat – magenta with tiny, silver sparkles, but it was size 12M and has been getting snug on her recently. She still has her adorable red, wool coat she wears to church, but I was definitely questioning whether or not her everyday winter coat would make it through the next couple of months. Enter GG and her sale-finding ability! Thank you so much GG for Amelia’s new, perfectly-timed winter coat! Pink with grey polka dots – perfect way to brighten up those grey, winter days! Thank you!

Wet, but Worth It

It was so nice getting to go for a run in 50 degree weather in January Saturday morning. It was overcast but not raining when I got home so I decided to throw the ball for Cooper for a bit at the park near our house. Of course, that’s when the sky opened up. We got completely drenched, but Cooper didn’t mind a bit, and really, he’s such a good dog, I didn’t really mind either.
