Camping Day 2 – High Bridge Trail

On Sunday, we biked part of the High Bridge Trail in Farmville, Va. The highlight of the trail is the bridge itself, aptly named High Bridge. It was a railroad bridge during the Civil War, but it’s now the centerpiece of High Bridge Trail State Park. The bridge crosses the Appomattox River and is a half-mile long and 12 stories high. Really cool. The rest of the trail was fun, too. All total we rode 16 miles (only covering an 8-mile segment of the 31-mile long trail!). 9_13a 9_13b 9_13c 9_13d 9_13e9_13f Checking out some birds soaring over the treetops…9_13h 9_13i
